What do I need to do if I want to name my company?

The first step is to determine if your proposed corporate name is available.  A NUANS (Newly Upgraded Automated Name Search) is a search tool that compares your proposed corporate name to those already in use or reserved. A NUANS report will provide a list of names and trade-marks that are found to be most similar to your proposed name.

If you plan to register a named corporation or change the name of your corporation, you’ll need a NUANS report which will reserve your name for 90 days.
